Spode has unveiled a new collection to celebrate the King’s coronation – all made in Stoke-on-Trent.
As well as being produced in the city, the seven-piece collection gives a nod to the manufacturer’s most famous designs by featuring details synonymous with the monarch, all in Spode’s iconic colbalt blue.
It has just been released in time for the coronation of King Charles III, which will take place on 6 May.
“We have a long history of creating beautiful and distinctive collections to mark royal occasions, so we’re proud to be able to continue this tradition and commemorate a truly special moment with the new collection,” said Lisa Archambault, Global Design Director at Spode.
“Perfect for collectors and for those who simply want to use and enjoy the range as part of their celebrations, as well as offering the opportunity to pass down an heirloom for generations to come, the collection is a wonderful addition to any home.”
The collection includes a nine-inch commemorative plate, a souvenir mug, a teapot, covered sugar bowl, a cream jug, a teabag tidy, as well as a coaster.
Spode is owned by Portmeirion Group, which issued a trading update in January to say sales were expected to have hit at least £110 million last year.
