Networking group helps generate £12.4m of business

A networking group has calculated it has generated more than £12.4 million of business in the local economy over the past 10 years.

BNI@10 – one of several Business Networking International (BNI) chapters in Staffordshire – has announced the figure as part of celebrations for its 10th birthday. The group has also calculated it has created 18,000 opportunities to do business during its time.

Chapter President Caroline Brunt, who is also owner of My Mortgage Wizards, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, said: “Reaching our ten-year milestone is certainly something to celebrate, especially when you look at the money that has been generated for the local business economy.

“We’re looking forward to building on that going forward as well as raising even more money for Emmaus which is a fantastic charity.”

Emmaus, which helps families in need, is the group’s charity member.

BNI@10 has 22 members from a range of business areas who meet every Wednesday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke on Trent on Festival Park.

Caroline added: “I have been proud to be a member of our networking group for almost seven years now and it has been fantastic for my business. It has undoubtedly helped it grow, as I know it has for all our other members.

“It’s not just about the business opportunities that are created by being a member but the other benefits that come with membership too. It’s having the support of colleagues, and advice and knowledge from the other members in the room.”

BNI Staffordshire Executive Director Tony Altham said: “I want to say a massive congratulations to BNI@10 on their tenth birthday – it is a fantastic achievement and there are great things ahead for the chapter.

“We are really looking to help them increase the number of businesses who join the group and increasing both the quantity and quality of the business referrals generated. That can only be good for the businesses in the room but those in the area and further afield too.”
