Legionella and Fire Safe Services (LFS) has landed the Specialist Contractor of the Year title at the National Building and Construction Awards held in London.
The Lichfield-based provider of legionella, fire safety and social housing construction solutions emerged victorious amidst fierce competition from top players in the industry.
LFS was recognised for its commitment to excellence and innovation shown in a project undertaken for Wates Construction on behalf of Tamworth Borough Council.
The project in question addressed issues raised by tenants concerning unpleasant odours attributed to leaks resulting from waste build-up within a building’s pipework.
Installation of new pipework was made more of a challenge due to the building’s age, the location of the original drainage stack and alterations carried out to flat layouts over the years.
LFS’ multi-specialist team completed the project without having to move residents to a temporary location and used a sustainable Terrain FUZE system to provide the most efficient solution.
LFS Managing Director Steve Morris said: “Receiving this prestigious accolade is truly remarkable for us, particularly in such a vast industry with a nationwide presence.
“Our expertise in live stack replacement works for local authorities and social housing is a specialised service. However, consolidating the fire safety aspects and carpentry works under one company significantly streamlines the entire process.
This not only benefits the residents but also simplifies the experience for the principal contractor, dealing with a singular entity to complete the entire project.
“I dedicate this award to every team member involved in this project, proudly acknowledging that we truly are nothing without our people.”
Last month, Daily Focus reported that LFS had received a special commendation in the Renewable Heat Project of the Year Category at the National Energy Efficiency Awards.
It recognised outstanding efforts working with Birmingham City Council, Equans UK & Ireland and Mixergy Ltd in pioneering groundbreaking energy-efficient projects.
