An independent coffee shop chain is preparing to open its newest location in Newcastle-under-Lyme, creating around 10 jobs.

The Coffee House has announced it will open its 22nd shop on Castle Walk at the end of April.

Its opening follows the launch of another branch at The Potteries Centre, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, just before Christmas last year. The company also has a store in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

The Coffee House also has branches in Hanley, above, and Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Co-founder Chris Shelmerdine said: “We are truly excited about the upcoming opening of our new coffee shop in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with the community here and create a space where people can relax, enjoy quality coffee, delicious treats, and make memories with their loved ones.”

Each of The Coffee House’s stores feature a signature interior design with exclusive murals that pay homage to the local area.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme store, which is expected to accommodate up to 80 guests, will feature designs inspired by the town’s Guildhall and the nearby Apedale Country Park.

It will also showcase a bespoke wooden counter made by the father of Chris and his brother Stephen, who both founded the company in 2011.

Their company claims to be dedicated to revolutionising the way people eat, drink and unwind in their local communities. Their coffee is roasted in a central production facility in Warrington and is served alongside a “delectable” range of cakes “expertly” baked by their team, which complements a wide selection of fresh food offerings.

A refurbishment of the store is currently underway, and recruitment has also started.
