An independent pub operator based in Burton upon Trent has picked up a prestigious accolade at this year’s Publican Awards.
Punch Pubs & Co, which has around 1,300 pubs across the UK, won the Best Partnership Pub Company (501+ sites), an award presented to “a highly successful tenanted or leased real estate.”
The company won the same award in 2022 and 2020.
CEO Clive Chesser said: “We are really delighted to receive this brilliant award, which is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovation of the passionate team who make up our fantastic Punch family.
“Over the past year, we have made great strides forward in many areas, and I dedicate this award to our Publicans and Management Partners for all the wonderful work that they do in their pubs and communities. We are incredibly proud to work in partnership with them.
“At Punch, our mantra is doing well by doing good to create an inclusive and empowering environment in which we can be our best selves. This esteemed award fires our bellies to do even better this year.”
The awards ceremony, held in London, was attended by more than 1,500 people from across the pub and beer industry. It was hosted by comedian and television presenter Tom Allen.
Marston’s, which has its brewery in Burton, won Best Pub Employer (501+ sites) at the same awards.
Jane Murray, Director of Learning & Development at Marston’s said: “We are thrilled to be awarded with this prestigious industry award.
“Winning is wonderful recognition for the progressive and innovative people strategy that we have here and credit to our incredible people who deliver that strategy every day. It shows that at Marston’s, people truly make our pubs.”
