Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce is proud to reveal the finalists for the 2025 Sustainability & Environment Award, sponsored by renewable energy leaders GivEnergy. This award honours businesses that have demonstrated exceptional leadership in environmental responsibility, sustainable innovation, and climate-conscious practices.
The finalists are:
Situated on the scenic banks of the Trent & Mersey Canal, Aston Marina has been recognised for seamlessly integrating sustainability into its award-winning hospitality operations. With a 300kWp solar array hidden within a natural basin, ground and air source heat pumps, electric kitchens, and EV infrastructure, the marina has become one of the region’s most energy-efficient leisure destinations. Aston Marina has increased on-site biodiversity by 55% and reduced its CO₂ emissions by over 52 tonnes annually — all while maintaining a premium guest experience.
A household name in Staffordshire’s leisure and tourism sector, the Waterworld Leisure Group has embraced sustainability across its multi-site operations. Through the installation of 1,700 solar panels, an advanced CHP engine, invisible pool covers, and groundwater reuse systems, the group now generates over 80% of its electricity on-site. Their innovative and community-focused sustainability strategy benefits not only the environment but also local schools and families through year-round swimming and wellness services.
As a trusted provider of workplace supplies, JG Fenn has emerged as a leader in sustainable procurement. Holding the Weaver Gold Sustainability Accreditation, the company has transitioned 75% of its fleet to electric vehicles and recycles 99.5% of its operational waste. With a focus on reducing Scope 3 emissions and supporting customers in making greener choices, Fenn 1875 is transforming the supply chain into a vehicle for environmental change.
The winners will be revealed at the Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards Gala Evening, taking place on 10th July 2025 at the Uttoxeter Racecourse.
