1 min read

Staffordshire businesses are being urged to sign up staff for free suicide awareness and prevention training.

The sessions, run by the Samaritans in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, aim to equip staff with the skills to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and provide the right support.

The dates of training are 2, 9 and 16 December, 13, 20 and 27 January, 10, 17 and 24 February and 3, 10 and 17 March.

Businesses taking part will receive a free awareness pack, including posters and green LED candles, to display during the week of the year’s longest night, starting Monday 15 December.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire County Council said: “We’d like to get as many Staffordshire businesses as possible to sign up at least one member of their staff to our free suicide awareness and prevention training sessions.

“The training is designed to help people to recognise signs that someone may be at risk of suicide and to give them the tools they need to be able to help them to get the right support.”

Businesses can register for their pack and book a training place via the online form
