Energy storage system supplier GivEnergy Ltd has gone into administration and all employees have been made redundant, it has been confirmed.
The firm headquartered in Newcastle-under-Lyme and part of a wider trading group, went into administration on 9 April with Chris Brooksbank of CB Business Recovery appointed as administrator.
Chris said in a statement: “GivEnergy Ltd (“the Company”) entered Administration on 9 April 2026 and I was appointed as Administrator. Following my appointment, all stakeholders should note that the Company has ceased to trade and all its employees have been made redundant. As a consequence, no further goods or services should be provided to the Company.”
According to latest results filed at Companies House, GivEnergy had 74 employees at the end of 2024.
The accounts show a loss of £5.4 million after tax for the year ending 31 December 2024, a huge contrast to £4.8 million profit the year before.
At one point, it had a projected annual turnover of £100 million and picked up a host of awards.
The company moved to new corporate headquarters on Brymbo Road in Newcastle in 2023, creating 40 jobs.
A high-profile ceremony was held when it opened its first UK manufacturing facility – part of a planned £15 million investment in two sites at Chemical Lane, in Stoke-on-Trent – in April 2024.
By then, the company had already expanded into the Australian and South African markets.
A financial report for the year to the end of 2024 reads: “The company experienced strong demand in the first half of the year as VAT exemption came into effect from 1 Feb.
“The company could not capitalise on the continued increase in demand second half of the year due to poor leadership and strategic decision of then CEO, who did not react to the threats posed by significant reductions in price of products from foreign competitors. Also there is a lack of governance from then Finance Director.”
As the company has ceased to trade, no further hardware warranties will be honoured by Givenergy Ltd, nor will user and software support will be honoured. All consumers should revert to their installer for support in the first instance.
Chris has stressed that CB Business Recovery has not been appointed over the following legal entities: Givenergy Group Limited, Givenergy Commercial Limited, Giveducation Limited, Givenergy Software Limited, Givenergy Property Limited and Satori Education Limited.
Any companies with ongoing business with any of those entities should contact the relevant one concerned.
Any parties with an interest in GivEnergy’s business should direct their enquiry to info@cb-br.co.uk
