Fifteen jobs have been created at a new flame grilled chicken chain opening in Newcastle-under-Lyme tomorrow (3 June).
Pepe’s Piri Piri is opening in the former Pizza Hut unit, most recently occupied by Smoking Bar and Grill, in the town centre.
The new town centre restaurant operated by Dawud Ahmed has created a mixture of full and part time jobs.
Pepe’s, which now has more than 255 locations across the UK, is known for its flame grilled chicken but also serves Mexican-inspired burritos and nachos, burgers, salads and its popular Chick’n’Rice boxes.
Dawud said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Pepe’s to the Newcastle-under-Lyme area; the team are excited to fire up the grills and get cooking in this local community which we’ll be proud to serve for what we’re sure will be many years to come.”
Matt Hart, head of franchising at Pepe’s Piri Piri, said: “It’s hard to believe that it was just back in 2007 that we opened the first Pepe’s Piri Piri in Watford and the store in Newcastle-under-Lyme puts us over 255 stores across the UK.

Pepe’s already has stores in Cannock, Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton upon Trent, and Stoke-on-Trent.
To mark the launch, the Newcastle restaurant will offer 20 per cent off all in-store and collection orders during its first three days of trading.
