Town centre businesses in Tamworth are being given the chance to apply for a new grant to help them battle the economic headwinds.
Tamworth Borough Council is setting aside £25,000 per annum in funding for the next three years to provide a boost for enterprises with less than 250 employees.
The aim is support them as they strive to improve their physical or digital presence, attract new customers and increase turnover.
The grants of between £2,500 and £10,000 could also be used to help the businesses increase their opportunities for survival through effective brand image and improved service or product.
Applicants must have been trading as a business for more than six months, be based in the town centre and be registered with HMRC or as a registered company.
Though any town centre business can apply, in the event of the scheme proving very popular priority will be given to businesses operating in the hospitality, food and drink, leisure and heritage sectors.

The closing date for applications is February 13, 2023.

“Although these grants will not be the answer to all the ongoing economic challenges, we do believe that these funds can go a long way in helping businesses upgrade their offering to customers and cover increased costs of items such as repairs, lighting and digital support.”
