Cricketers bowled over by renewed generosity

1 min read

Digger giant JCB has pledged thousands of pounds to a Staffordshire Moorlands cricket club to support them over the next three years.

The company has renewed its sponsorship of Cheadle Cricket Club and presented members with £3,000 to cover the 2023-2025 seasons.

JCB has two factories in the town and has a reputation for supporting local organisations and good causes with links to its employees.

Cheadle Cricket Club chairperson Steve Plant said: “Many of our members have an association with JCB and we are extremely grateful for the company’s continued support.

“The club has thriving adult and junior sections playing to excellent league standards every week throughout the summer months and JCB’s funding makes a real difference to the standard of our facilities.”

Winter practise for junior teams is now under way in preparation for the 2023 season, while seniors’ training begins on 25 January 25.

The first Cup game of the new season is set for 15 April with the league beginning on 22 April.
