A car company has invested around £600,000 into bringing a historic town centre former fire brigade base back into use.

Enterprise has relocated to Burton upon Trent’s Brigade House from Anderstaff Industrial Estate, creating two jobs.

A team of 14 staff members are now based there.

Adhel Rashid, Facilities and Construction Specialist of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said: “It is great to be able to invest in Burton.

“We have a loyal customer base who we have served for over 15 years, and it is a privilege to be able to provide an elevated customer experience in our new location.

“The new location is also ideally located for the local transport network so our customers can get to us.”

Refurbishment work included demolishing a building to the rear and completely fitting out the ground floor.

The base has operated by T L Darby as a car showroom in recent years.

T L Darby was represented in the transaction by property consultants Salloway

Richard Darby, Director of T L Darby (Holdings) said: “Having owned this fantastic property since the 1970’s when the Fire Brigade moved further down the road, we operated various motor franchises out of the site such as Volvo and Volkswagen in the years after until now.

“We’re delighted to have let the ground floor to Enterprise, who we’ve had a good business relationship with for many years.

“It’s good to see one of the town’s fine old buildings in full use again and by such a good operator as Enterprise.”
