Stoke-on-Trent-based accountancy and advisory group DJH has accelerated its growth with the acquisition of three former Haines Watts offices in Chester, Liverpool, and Wirral.

The deal, which takes DJH’s total turnover to £61.5 million, strengthens its foothold in the North West and reinforces its position as one of the UK’s top 30 accountancy firms.

The acquisition expands DJH’s reach in the region, now generating over £24 million in revenue across the North West. It also increases the firm’s national workforce to 750 employees.

The newly acquired offices will continue operating under the DJH brand and complement the firm’s existing locations in Altrincham, Bury, Chester, Manchester, and Nantwich.

Scott Heath, CEO of DJH, said: “This acquisition is a key part of our strategy to partner with high-quality, client-focused firms in strategic regional markets. The teams in Chester, Liverpool, and Wirral bring valuable local knowledge and established client relationships that will enhance our service offering.”

The acquisition is DJH’s 16th deal in just four years, highlighting the firm’s rapid growth trajectory. Local leadership in each acquired office will remain intact, with key figures including Mike Forshaw and Tim Cherry in Liverpool, Stuart Penny and Vikki Wynne in Wirral, and Steve Greensill and Joe Walters in Chester.

The deal also enhances DJH’s service offering, with clients in these regions gaining access to an expanded suite of in-house services such as R&D tax credits, corporate finance, commercial funding, and HR consultancy.

Supported by private equity firm Tenzing, DJH points to continued expansion in Staffordshire and beyond.
