A Staffordshire-based furniture specialist has quietly played a key role in bringing Jeremy Clarkson’s newest venture, The Farmer’s Dog pub, to life.
Taylor’s Classics were selected to supply a range of bespoke furniture for Clarkson’s Cotswolds-based pub after a handwritten letter caught the attention of Jeremy and his partner, Lisa Hogan.
“It started with a letter,” said Martin Taylor, founder of Taylor’s Classics.
“I heard the news that Jeremy was buying a pub on the radio, so I thought, why not write to him?
“I didn’t hear anything for a few weeks, but then I got a call from a member of their design team, saying that Jeremy and Lisa loved my approach – a traditional way of reaching out.”
Martin and his team subsequently met Jeremy, Lisa Hogan, and the production crew from Amazon’s Clarkson’s Farm, securing the contract to supply furniture across both the pub and restaurant areas.

The order included Audley armchairs, Glasgow benches, Bentwood curved-back chairs and Rustic Gothic dining tables.
“After a year of operation, our furniture continues to serve the venue beautifully,” Martin added.
““It combines style with durability, and it’s been incredible to see it in such a high-profile setting.”
Martin features on the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, series four, which premiered earlier this year.
Taylor’s Classics, which began in 1978, employs 32 people in Stafford and prides itself on reclaiming and recycling furniture alongside manufacturing bespoke pieces in its 40,000-square-foot facility.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Jeremy, Lisa, and the entire production team.
“It’s been an unforgettable experience and an achievement for our company. We wish The Farmer’s Dog many more years of success.”

Brilliant success story – thanks for bringing it to our attention!
