Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce is delighted to announce the finalists for the Learning and Development Award at the 2025 Business Awards. Sponsored by Currie Young, this award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to professional development, lifelong learning, and inspiring personal growth within their organisations and communities.
This year’s finalists are:
Ryan Williams – Bri-Stor Systems
From apprentice to Assistant Production Manager, Ryan Williams has transformed his career—and his company—through continuous learning. At Bri-Stor Systems, Ryan’s progression from Level 2 Engineering Technician to a senior leadership role is marked by his hands-on leadership and operational innovations. He has implemented production hubs, developed EV safety training, and mentored new starters, playing a key role in boosting team performance and customer satisfaction.
“Ryan is a credit to himself and the business,” said Nick Haywood, Production Manager. “He embodies everything this award represents.”
Jessica Hipwood – RAB Consultants
Joining RAB Consultants in 2020 during lockdown, Jessica Hipwood has become a driving force in the company’s engineering team. As a project leader and mentor, she’s contributed to award-winning national infrastructure projects, developed quality systems, and inspired the next generation through STEM outreach. Jessica is currently pursuing a first-class degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering with ambitions to achieve Chartered Engineer status by age 25.
“Jessica’s talent, work ethic, and commitment to development are unmatched,” said Peter Batty, Director.
Daria Sokolnykova – Stoke on Trent College
Ukrainian student Daria Sokolnykova has overcome immense challenges to emerge as a top performer at Stoke on Trent College. Studying Computer Games Art and Animation, she has excelled academically, contributed to industry briefs, exhibited with Tate collaborators, and secured a scholarship to Escape Studios. Daria also mentors her peers and supports community projects in digital heritage, making her a standout ambassador for learning and resilience.
“Her story is one of determination, creativity, and exceptional progress,” said Stoke on Trent College.
