Steve Timmis, Director at leading accountants Sempar, is gearing up for his 10th annual ‘Walk for John’ charity event in memory of his father.

Joined by a group of friends and family members, Steve will embark on the Sandstone trail on 18 November – a grueling 40-kilometre trek from Delemere to Whitchurch – to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Over the past nine years, Steve has collectively walked over 300 miles, conquering the height of Everest twice and raising an impressive total of over £40,000 for various charities as he looks to honour his dad’s memory while making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Steve said: “Since 2013, I have dedicated the anniversary of the passing of my dad in his memory to others by hiking over 300 miles and raising vital funds for a number of charities including Severn Hospice, Help Appeal, MND. On the walks have been joined by my family and friends and I am eternally grateful for their support.”

“This year we are walking to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity that we have selected in memory of my wife’s mother, Sue, who we lost suddenly in August.

“We are walking from Delamere Forest to Whitchurch which is nearly 30 miles – and any support is appreciated.

“Your contributions will make a real difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer and pay tribute to a beloved family member.”
