Roadworks to widen the Marina Way and Festival Way sections of the roundabout at Festival Park, Stoke-on-Trent, have now been completed.
The roundabout improvement work integrates the broader Etruria Valley Link Road scheme – a transformative 1.2km road connecting Festival Park to the A500 at Wolstanton.
These enhancements will significantly boost capacity and facilitate the smooth flow of traffic from the surrounding region.
Contractors working on the road were able to utilise parking and welfare facilities at Commerce House to enable work to be completed ahead of schedule.
Speaking last week week, Councillor Amjid Wazir, cabinet member for environment and enforcement, said: “This project is part of the wider Etruria Valley Link Road scheme which aims to help alleviate traffic and congestion around the city.
“Earlier this year we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National Highways as part of our bid to tackle the challenges faced by the city’s road network and we believe that the scheme at Festival Park will play a part in that by helping to improve the traffic flow around the area.”
